Greater South River Animal Hospital now offers the latest state of the art technology available to treat joint and soft tissue pain and inflammation. It is a drug free, noninvasive treatment that has proven to speed healing, reduce pain and inflammation. Laser therapy uses a beam of laser light to deeply penetrate tissues without damaging them. The laser energy reduces inflammation by inducing "photo-bio-modulation", a bio-medical response in the treated cells. A wide variety of chronic and acute conditions can be treated with this new technology ranging from allergies, wounds, ear infections, lick granulomas, muscle strains and sprains to degenerative joint disease (arthritis).

Treatment time is approximately 3-6 minutes per site and does not require sedation or anesthesia. Acute conditions may improve with 1 or 2 visits while chronic conditions may require multiple sessions (4 to 8) to significantly improve comfort levels which then can be maintained with periodic treatments every 3 to 8 weeks.
